When you reach 14, your Scouting journey can continue with Mercury ESU – an Explorer Scout Unit that meets at the same hall and boathouse as the 4th Streatham Sea Scouts. Mercury meets on alternateThursday evenings from 20:00 to 22:00 during term time and offers even more independence, responsibility and challenge.

As an Explorer, you’ll take the lead more often, try new things, and step up to bigger adventures. From planning your own expeditions and developing survival skills to pushing your teamwork and leadership abilities further, Mercury gives you space to grow and shape your experience.

You’ll have opportunities to earn top awards like the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, take part in major camps and international events, and become a Young Leader – working with younger sections and learning real leadership skills.

While Explorer Units are part of the wider District, Mercury ESU is closely linked with the 4th Streatham Sea Scouts and continues the same spirit of friendship, adventure and outdoor fun – just with a bit more freedom and responsibility.

If you’re ready for the next step, Mercury is waiting.
